I did the same research and came to a similar conclusion. However the
Carrera Panamericana Ak Miller has recently gone to the great road race
in the sky. Perhaps it's just a coincidence????

Good question Patrick, thought about that myself, little research on the
'net indicates they were not the same "blokes" the Carrera Panamericana
Ak Miller rode his Caballo de Hierro for the last time in 2005, the gent
on the site (which is a very neat story by the way) in '96.
