Hey Mal
Sorry to be correcting you like this but DonP suggests that ICI 2697 - Ice
Blue wsan't a Healey colour and wasn't a metallic. The correct Ice Blue
Metallic was ICI 2301M which was listed as Austin Colour BU.02.
Check it out at
http://www.coloramic.com/articles/hlyclrs.htm

When the ICI recipes were bought by PPG (the story goes) that they
reproduced the paints using traditional components and then colour matched
the result in modern materials. It has also been reported that the colour
varied from batch to batch, which is probably true. That can easily arise
by failing to mix the delivery correctly, variations in application and even
excessive thinning to spread it out further. My hunch is that ICI probably
new exactly what the colour should be and that is what ahs been maintained
in the PPG library. The variations all seem to come from the handling of
the product by the end customer - BMC.

Just my two cents.........

Dan Pikovnik in his Healey "Guide to Historic Colors" shows Ice Blue with
the ICI Code 2697. You will really need to do a sprayout on a sample board
to see what any color will look like for camparison purposes.
