Yes the stock type changers work well as long as you do not stretch them.
In other words the holes must align nicely.  Carry a spare.  Also some have
reported on drilling and countersinking and sending a screw through them to
make em last.

The bond of rubber to metal is the weak link.  Stretching is caused by poor 
Alignment of mount holes on recently sold stainless steel systems from
popular major suppliers.

I used old hangers (the two hole metal part only) as spacers to aid in
alignment without the need of stainless steel welding.

What are listers using to hang their exhausts?  Are there Healey specific
hangers that have to be used or can these be purchased down at Joes auto
supply.

For instance can the generic rubber strap and exhaust clamps be used
satisfactorily?
