Lin,
I'd like to second Mike's input, and add that the correct 1/8" BSPP
tap is readily available from McMaster-Carr for about $16, part
number 8328A21.  If you have a problem finding the skinnier copper
sealing washers you can also mill down the banjo itself to gain depth
for the bolt.  I have taken .050" off the bottom surface with no problems,
but you must be sure not to remove so much that the bolt bottoms on
the rocker shaft before sealing at the banjo.
