Hi, Rick -
The following info is typically on a certificate for a BJ8:
Each certificate has a serial number, which is probably significant only to
BMIHT.

Make and Model: AUSTIN-HEALEY 3000 MARK III CONVERTIBLE
Car/chassis number: HBJ8L/XXXXX (the number of your car from the
title/registration/firewall VIN plate, which you generally quote to order
the certificate)
Engine number: 29K/RU/HXXXXX (the serial number of the original engine)
Body number: XXXX BJ8 XXXXX (the first four digits plus "BJ8" are called
the "batch number" and are sometimes, but usually not, given on the
certificates. The last five digits comprise the body number. These numbers
are stamped on the body plate attached to the top center of the firewall)
Specification: LHD, North American Export for cars intended for the North
American market. Other possibilities here are Home (for UK cars) plus some
others such as Export Europe. About 80% of all Big Healeys were for the
North American market.

Colour: a) exterior b) trim c) hood (top)

Part 2 to follow.
