Thanks for the tip about Red Line MTL 90 in the tranny. Over the weekend
I drove the BJ8 for about 20 miles, drained the tranny, re-filled with
the MTL90 and put another five miles on it! Woo Hoo, smooth! I like it.
Must be slippery stuff! Highly recommend, even for the price which was
$8/quart in the Midwest (sorry, shipping from Stockton sounded
expensive).

We are using Red Line 10 w 40 synthetic motor oil, it has the same
viscosity or Castrol 20w50 which we have been using in all the cars here
in the shop for the last 30 years.
We also are using the Red Line MTL in the Healey transmission and it is
making a big difference in the shifting. It is a gear quality oil that
is a 30wt viscosity. We have found smoother shifting with this oil.
