Andy, for a BJ8 the studs are pressed in, and you will need to remove the
hub, I believe. That's the way I did it.

Subject: [Healeys] rear hub extension studs

Friends
Just spent a few hours pulling my hair out with my rear axle, the PO had
chewed up most of the hub nuts on both sides when he tried to probably free
the rear brakes. I have managed to get all of the nuts off but had to drill
out two studs to free both drums/ hub extensions. Then had fun trying to
prise one sides drum off its shoe.
Question is are the countersunk headed studs pressed into the hub or screwed
and do I have enough clearance between the axle backplate and hub plate or
do I have to remove the hub?
thanks in advance
Andy
