It could be a loose balancer, if the nut works loose it allows the
balancer to work back and forth and widen the key way, its easy
enough to check if its making that much noise you can normally move
it back and forth with your hand not in and out. You will want to
inspect the crankshaft key, as well as the balancer for damage, you
will want to at least change the key, and re-assemble everything with
thread locker !! If that is the problem it will be damaging the end
of the crankshaft as well.
