You guys are great.   I will sleep a bit better knowing that the oil 
pressure should be  in the OK
area at 40 to 50 lbs.     I don't know why but the MGs that I have been 
driving  run in the
range of 50 to 70 highway speeds. I just figured that this was the 
acceptable range for all LBCs.

I may try Rolands idea on reusing the old pressure spring which I still have 
stashed away with all
the other used parts that I kept.  However I bet that project is a real bear 
to get at compared to
doing it on the engine stand.   I think I will get the top installed first, 
;  )
