I guess this means the Bourdon tube that drives the indicator on the gauge 
needs to be pre-filled with oil as well--I 
doubt 'bleeding the line' removes the gas (air) that's in the Bourdon tube.  
You'd need a small syringe to get the oil 
past the orifice in the back of the gauge.
