No, not true. The only instances of OEW cars having black underbody is 
early BN1s. After that, the cars were painted once and only once, body color. 
(oversprayed coves on two-tones). The only circumstances under which a white 
car would have black fender wells would be with a dealer-applied undercoating 
(which we do not recommend replacing) or a sloppy restoration.
