Here is a quick table that outlines the difference in performance of varying
differential gearing. Hopefully it will come through in relatively readable
form.

Crown / Ratio
Performance Performance
Pinion _____ Improvement_____
Description41 / 10 4.100 100.0 %
4.9 % quick starting43 / 11 3.909
- 4.7 % 100.0 % all around39 / 11 3.545
         - 13.5 % - 9.3 % cruising & good gas mileage.

A taller rear-end is a higher gear ratio which is a smaller ratio number; i.e.
3.545 is a taller rear-end than a 3.909.

Also attached for you Jerry is an Excel spread sheet in which you only have to
input your rear-end and overdrive information to determine the theoretical
performance differences.

Enjoy!!
