Simon:
I have agonized for the past year on do pull or not to pull because there is
nothing wrong with the engine. It ticks like a fine watch. I decided the
engine must come out for many reasons, not limited to replacing the entire
Clutch assembly and master, dropping the pan to clean, add rear bearing
seal, paint the engine and touch up the engine compartment, add a fan to the
radiator including shrouds to direct air flow, and so on. Also, I have a
group of LBC mechanics in the area who have extensive experience in pulling
engines for LBC and have volunteered to help, so why not. It will go back in
in 30 to 60 days so I can drive it in the Florida Spring time.

Thanks for your comments.

Yes, I too second comments regarding the list. I find the advice garnered
from it to be invaluable and would miss it dreadfully. I do contribute
occasionally, but often wonder if I'm doing more harm than good!
As to clutch replacement....you don't have to remove the engine. Just the
gearbox! However, the gearbox is damn heavy too. Removal is awkward - heavy
object in a confined space - and does definitely involve " lifting, pushing,
pulling etc". But, at least, the engine can stay in situ.
Don't forget to undo the "stabilizer bar" underneath or you'll be shoving,
heaving and cursing all day. Easy to miss that one (like I did the first
time)............it's pretty much a one-liner in the manual.
Simon
