I just checked my Lucas 400 series parts manual which is the last version
1945-1960.  The only starter model number listed is M418G with numerous
part number listings (33+ total) in the 255XX A-J range.

FWIW regarding the model number...

M = Starting Motor
418 = 4 1/8" diameter yolk
Suffix G = Die-cast commutator end bracket or frame

For example BN1/2 through 1960 3000 starting motors were all model no.
M418G and part no. 25521B/D
