Hi, I was told the yellow with black letters was original for cars thru
1959, maybe longer,  then it changer to black with yellow letters. On the
black plate the number 63 is embossed in the upper right corner. The blue
with yellow letters started in 1968. I think, because my 1967 BJ8 had those
because it was first sold in 1968. Aloha, Jim
