[Healeys] BN4 grill install

Making progress on  my car.
I am working on installing my grill.
I wrestled my air deflector in and now want to move on to installing the
grill. As I write this I  think I should not have tightened the deflector
bolts as the grill must use the same bolts....
That said, bottom lip, top brow, grill?
any tricks to not scratching the body work with the grill as I install it?
