Yeah. When I got the adapter from Moss I bought the 'correct' filter; it wa=
s a Fram PH3600, which x-ref'd to Wix# 51516.=20

I cut both open and, at the time, the Fram was flimsy junk, but supposedly =
they've upped their game since getting embarrassed by that guy who did the =
analyses on a bunch of filters (and probably got some nasty letters from ma=
nufacturers' lawyers). My dad has used Frams for decades with no problems; =
they just used thinner metal and the end caps were paper instead of metal, =
and I don't think their anti-drainback valves sealed as well.=20

This is the same as the MGB oil filter. So you can cross to a Fram or many =
other filters using the late MGB filter=20

Hi,=20

I=E2=80=99ve recently fitted a spin-on kit onto my 3000, the one that goes =
straight onto the block.=20

Which filters do you guys use? My kit came with a Unipart GFE 166 (CB6). I =
don=E2=80=99t know what the CB6 means.=20

I gather that the GFE 166 has been superseded by the GFE 443.=20

So far as I can see it does not have an anti-drain back valve and it seems =
rather small for a 3 litre engine.=20

Ideally I=E2=80=99d like a longer filter with a valve and hopefully a hex o=
n the end for easier removal. Can=E2=80=99t go wider or it will be into the=
 starter motor.=20

Any ideas???=20

Thanks,=20
