Michael, how do you know?
I'll start. I had two cans on the shelf, with nearly identical colors
and labeling. One was 'CRC Electronic Parts Cleaner' and one was 'CRC
Electrical Parts Cleaner.' I don't remember if I misread the labels, or
just didn't think there was a difference, but I grabbed the 'Electrical
Parts' can and started spraying the guts of my speedometer. Well, I
took most of the paint off the odometer before I realized my gaff. I
finished cleaning the speedo with 'Electronic Parts' cleaner without
mishap. Fortunately, Testor's makes a nice enamel with near-perfect
match colors. Listers, pay attention to your cans.
I've used '3M Adhesive Remover' on lots of things, esp. 3M adhesive
(duh) and upholstery glue, and it's never removed paint. It's so good,
you can't buy it in California any more.
