 The Kilmartin straps were indeed correct.=C2=A0 To make Pancho's gas tank =
fit, (slightly out of dimension) I replaced the 1/2" closed cell foam seal =
from Moss on the boot floor with a 3/16" foam seal that was made from a she=
et of EPDM foam rubber from McMaster Carr.=C2=A0 The 1/2" inch foam seal wo=
uld not compress one bit, making the tank sit too high.=C2=A0 At the same t=

from that.=C2=A0 Both problems solved with the help of gentleman on the lis=

Subject:=C2=A0[Healeys] Aluminum Fuel Tank
I am trying to fit the fuel tank into my BN2.=C2=A0 The tank was made by an=
 Ebay seller called Angelheartpancho.=C2=A0 He is actually local to the San=
 Diego area, so I had him make me a 100-4 gas tank in aluminum for a fracti=
on of the one Moss sells..=C2=A0 I recently obtained two tank retaining str=
aps from Kilmartin in Australia.=C2=A0 I don't know if the straps are too s=
hort or the tank is too big. I have tried bending them to shape, but one si=
de just won't go into the hole at the rear.=C2=A0 Too short!=C2=A0 Can some=
one give me the measurements of their 100-4 gas tank?=C2=A0 I'd like to com=
pare.=C2=A0 Also, I was given an original gas cap in pretty good shape.=C2=
=A0 I would love to use it except for the fact the gasket inside is in pret=
ty bad shape.=C2=A0 I can already smell the gas fumes in the future.=C2=A0 =
None of the usual suspects have replacement gasket seals.=C2=A0 Has anyone =
made one before?=C2=A0 What material did you use?Mike MacLean
