Thanks for the suggestions=E2=80=A6. It has been a long time since I =
checked out the possibility of using seats from a different car, but I =
seem to recall the problem was with the width of the top of the =
seatbacks. The Healey has curved back so that the seat can slide =
backwards without touching the interior panel that protects/hides the =
convertible top mechanism. If the MGB seat backs are narrow enough, =
they might work. =20

=20

Thanks

Skip,

I'd say the MGB seats would work well since the cars are similar in =
size. The seat rails work the same way as a big Healey, but =
measurements would need to be taken to see how well it would all work. =
And the seat back isn't really very thick. The Healey seat backs are =
curved more, so the overall may be around the same.

Take a tape measure to a British car show near you and ask some of the =
owners if you can measure their seats.

Another advantage to using MGB ones are that you can get leather covers =
with maybe the exact same color as your Healey seats are. I think that =
1969 was the first year for headrests and they were leather. Checking =
out a Moss catalog would tell you when they went to vinyl.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. The =E2=80=9Cstrength in a =
crash=E2=80=9D issue is important to consider, however I am not =
interested in the headrest from that standpoint. My wife simply likes =
to rest her head when we are cruising around. The Miata solution is =
interesting, but I am leaning a bit more towards an adjustable headrest. =
The MGB seats might be ok, but I wonder about how the relatively thick =
seat backs of those seats work in the limited space of a Healey cockpit. =
 =20

 =20

For any of these =E2=80=9Cswap out the whole seat=E2=80=9D solutions, =
are there significant modifications required to the floor pan of the =
Healey? Or, can the swapped seats work on the original Healey seat =
rails? =20

Another option would be some late MGB seats. The headrest telescopes so =
they can be put down when the car is parked. I have a '77 that has a =
Victoria British seat cover set in it, and they are quite attractive. I =
also have a '77 parts car with very nicely redone original pattern =
seats. The issue, though, is because the car was T-boned the passenger =
side seat bottom frame is bent. Shipping could be expensive is you =
aren't close to southern PA.
