Harold,

=20

Your comment about the colour =E2=80=98peeling off=E2=80=99 puzzles me.

I agree that the red beehive lens does come in a small variety of shades =
=E2=80=93 some quite dark =E2=80=93 but mine are all red glass right =
through. No red coating.

I know this as one lens is chipped and it is red glass under the =
surface.

Unfortunately, this does not solve your problem.

I think best to go with Michael=E2=80=99s suggestion and buy a set of =
four new matching ones.

=20

That said, it is a problem not only with the red lenses =E2=80=93 I have =
five orange L594 lenses and only two are the same. So much for =
=E2=80=98quality control=E2=80=99, eh?

Subject: [Healeys] Restoring Lucas L594 Lens

=20

Hello,

=20

I have 4 red original glass Lucas L594 Red Beehive tail light lens. =
Unfortunately no two match. The colour is either different, faded or =
starting to peel off.=20

Has anyone has good success stripping the old red and then recoating =
with a new red?

=20

I know you can buy new but these are original and I would like to reuse =
them. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated. What type of coating is =
recommended.

=20

Thanks=E2=80=A6.. Harold
