Alan,
First of all you have a very nice car from just seeing the engine bay. Whil=
e I would not discourage anyone to enter their car in Concours let me tell =
you that it is something that is much easier to accomplish while your car i=
s being restored, not when it is finished as yours is as you will have to d=
ismantle a fair amount just in the engine bay from what I can see. However=
if this is a challenge you are ready to tackle, so be it.
Read and re-read everything in the Concours Guidelines several times over a=
nd then tackle the tasks in section, such as the engine bay, then the inter=
ior, then the trunk area. Not knowing when your car was restored, it is dif=
ficult to say to what level it is already at. As an example, the Guidelines=
now require that undercoating be added in various areas under the car and =
then, the undercoating is painted over in body colour. In order to accompli=
sh that, if not done already, will certainly involve an fair amount of work=
and perhaps dismantling of several components to accomplish the task.
Perhaps you already have done the job of determining what level your car is=
currently at and that you know what it will take to make it a Gold level c=
ar. If not, that to me, would be the first steps to determine if you feel t=
his is something you want to tackle.
