To increase the amount of collective trivia knowledge, everyone might be in=
terested to know that Warwick built Healeys or real Healeys were fitted ori=
ginally with twin SU fuel pumps. One for sea level driving and the other fo=
r Alpine. To change from one to another or to both it=E2=80=99s a matter of=
 pressing a button on the dash.

 

One of the pumps fitted to my 1948 Healey Duncan is still points operated, =
while the other is electronic. The electronic pump is polarity sensitive (+=
ve), while the points pump is not.

in SU whilst doubling up on the reserve pump option. One can switch from en=
d to end, both of which are individually fused. One end did fail and the ot=
her got me home. It was the points.
