List,
as you prepare for WOS I want to thank you for this
list and the ability to follow the exploits of the
list and racing while I am overseas. My job has taken
me to Munich Germany. I am back in the states for a
few weeks wrapping up some things but I will be off
and on between DC and Munich .

I wanted to give you guys and gals an impression of
what it was like to drive on the autobahn. I was in a
surprisingly quick turbo diesel VW passat with my foot
to the floor going about 180 KPH ( later found out
this is about 110 MPH) Pretty good clip on the highway
I thought . My years of bracket racing have given me a
good sense of the closure rate of a vehicle coming up
in my rear view mirror. I had guys coming up on me
with at least 50 to 60 MPH closure easily.Porsches ,
Ferraris ,Lambirginis everywhere. It was amazing on a
public road to see it . It was also fun to pass police
officers at over 100 too. Very cool.
I bought an 86 camaro while I was back and will go
ahead an try the Kieth Turk method of 200 mph by going
ahead and running a small-small block and trying to go
fast . I have a bunch of pieces and parts and will
mothball the hemi Porsche for now and get something
going by the spring of next year( 2001 ) I can build
the Camaro quickly and don't have to reinvent the
wheel along the way .
Good luck at wos everyone !
George in DC ( sometimes in Munich nowadays )
