Actually, the compre3ssion ratio's of the Winston Cup cars were around 17:1 on gasoline supplied by Union 76, I believe. Speeds were getting out of hand because of the hp so the Rules people limited the compression ratio to 12.5 to 1. And they check. Even at 12.5 to 1 the horsepower is 750. mayf |
