I did a little lunchtime web surf. This looks like a good solution to the opening shock snapping mounting points... http://www.butlerparachutes.com/ Look under "technical publications" at "The Design and Development of New Emergency Parachute Canopies Utilizing the BAT Sombrero Slider(tm)" It looks like a little mini chute sliding in the shrouds to keep the main chute from snapping open. They claim it also speeds up inflation at low speeds. Simon Smith |
