Keith, The Sun " Zener " style tach required NO black box /
sending unit
under the hood or dash, and came in a nice round chrome case that looked nice
mounted on a dashboard or steering column . I bought one from Honest
Charley
in Chattanooga in 1960, and still have it ...... with my flat tappet cams
it never
read above 7800 ........
