I agree, he wasn't a cheater.  He never went against a written rule, he
didn't run too much displacement or anything like that.  He just followed
the letter of the rules, not necessarily the "spirit" of the rules.  He
didn't only look at what the rule said, he looked at what it DIDN'T say.  I
think he defined what "outside the box" means.

  Someone at my job claims he was an excellent cheater when it came to
racing.  I strongly disagree, he was much, much smarter and more savy than
your average mechanic.
