I have just ordered an air density meter from USA. It has to go by sea
transport because of the damage if there are rapid changes in air pressure,
as would occur by air.
Can some one advise me if there is a "service" by US postal people where by
the parcel can be tracked. In this country we can send things & get a
signature back. Is there a similar service from USA.

Yes there is Pip, but if you ship via US postal service it will undoubtably
go via air unless your want to wait 2 months for it to arrive via ship.
I would expect Tantau to be able to tell you that the changes in pressure
isn't as great as you might expect in airliners........
