Many believe that the switches now available are low-quality devices.
There are three or four guys in our club whose new switches have failed
within the first driving season of their lives. One, an engineer, took a
new dead one apart and said that it appeared unable to handle the current
of the halogen bulbs he had installed.
Someone has recently published a schematic for a relay installation
that would reduce current through the switch. If I can find it, I will
distribute it --- oh wait, that won't do, as the list won't take
attachments. Well, let me see if I can find the thing, and then I can
offer to xerox and mail.
