There may be better or more definitive proof somewhere, but
I've read somewhere that chrome shells can be on any year. 
My 53, 25939, has painted shells with NO emblem. I have a
52, 11xxx, out in the shop with PAINTED shells and the
emblem as original. So, any variation may be possible.
