I am lazy too. I connect a trickle charge (which is on a daily 2 hour timer)  
to 
a ground and the hot to the bolt of the starter wire on my MGA. I use the same 
type of set up on the MGB , except it is connected to the cigarette lighter. 
These one amp life supports keep the battery charged during the winter 
hibernation without problems.
