1. Did you check for spark. ? Very Important.
2. Check for fuel. The New Pump could be bad also.
3. Stuck Valves.
4. Check for obstructions in the intake. 
6. Check Timing.
7. Check Compression.

Good luck I have been their and done that, several times.
