I cut pieces of fiber insulation for the under side of my '73 MGB. I got some
adhesive pads form a friend of mine who does HVAC work. The approximately 1"
square pads are aluminum with a stud attached. The insulation is pushed onto
these studs which pierce it. A mating clip (kinda like a tinnerman nut) slips
over he stud which locks the insulation into the stud. Excess length of stud
can be cut off.
Each insulation piece has five studs holding it on for about five years now.
