        Don't use vaseline, it's petroleum based. You might have to settle
for liquid soap. I use it when changing tires and it works fine.The
bushings that I have seen on the springs have a metal bushing in the
center where the bolt goes through. You can put grease on the bolt or an
anti seize compound.
