If you have to turn the ignition off and on before it will run then it could be
stuck contacts in the fuel pump, try giving it a tap with a hammer (temp fix if
you are lucky). Normally when you turn on the ignition after the car has been
standing for more than a few minutes you should hear several clicks from the
pump.
If you are getting that then your pump sounds OK. Take a petrol pipe off a
carb,
and hold it over a jar while someone turns on the ignition (don't operate the
starter). The pump should go "ker-chunk-ker-chunk-ker-chunk" etc and a goodly
flow
of petrol should come out of the pipe. If that's OK it sounds like the carbs.
Or
it may be electrics.

You can jump start your two six volts, they are connected in series to make
12v.
There will be a short jumper cable that joins the two batteries, ignore these
terminals. The other terminal on one battery will be the hot connection, the
other
terminal on the other battery will be the ground. Your car should be negative
ground, but check first. Then connect positive on the jumper car to postive on
yours, and negative to negative as normal.
