but, my friend has found the following car in Boston and he asked what I

>engine runs very well, idles smoothly, accelerated smoothly into the red and
>under load (4th gear at about 10 mph). Fairly new tires, new hoses and good
>belts. The engine doesn't smoke at all and the oil pressure gauge is pretty
>constant. The engine temp is also in the middle of the dial. I'm not
>thrilled with the one Zenith-Stromberg and the emissions equipment. The air
>pump isn't being driven, however, and I'd probably take most of it out.
> The body has been painted once and shows no rust even underneath.
>It also feels sound. The vinyl inside hasn't cracked at all. The carpet
>needs a little work, but that's no big deal. The top has been replaced but
>the windows are starting to look a little opaque (also no big deal).
>There's a chrome luggage rack, tonneau cover, extra lower radiator hose and
>belt.
> I even jacked up the front end and checked that there was no lateral
>play in the front wheels.
> The owner said he has had almost no problems with the car since he
>bought it new. The mechanic that works on it says it will need a new water
>pump in the near future, but it just got out of the shop, so I think it's
>pretty good other than that.
> The guy was asking $5800 for it, and I got him down to $5150. I
>need to know if that's overpriced. I know it is in some parts of the
>country, but I don't know about up here, especially since this one has been
>stored almost all of its winters and I imagine most up here haven't.
> I might have forgotten to mention something in this email, so if you
>can think of anything else to ask about it, let me know and I'll try to
>remember.
