 Gee, I really did feel stupid and spent the rest of the evening thinking
< of lies to tell the others in at work the next day!

 Nothing to be ashamed of, here!  You just did what we all would have
done: threw yourself in front of your moving MG to protect it!  At
great risk and sacrifice, too!  We're proud of you, you're a credit
to the marque!
