Hi Nory,
One thing I do recall-vividly-happened with my first BGT, a '68 I owned
in the late 70s. Attempting to get the gearbox dipstick out, I got my
finger stuck in its loop and this jammed my knuckle against the tunnel
skin. Trapped, I had to hoot the horn to get someone to free me. Since
then, I've always hooked the stick out with a welding rod.
