Poppet/runon valve info for HI4

Hi listers,
        Here's a quick question. I bought a pair of HI4's used. One poppet
was working; the other was soldered shut.  
Should I replace the soldered shut one,
Should I replace the unsoldered one,
And what difference does it make?
