One advantage has to do with insurance. I understand if you have a car show
and notify the national club then that may cover you under their group
policy and your local club will not have to buy insurance for the event
yourself. They require that a certain number...usually about five to ten
members of the club are member of the national club, but unusually there are
that many anyway.
