hello all,
I put a new head on my 74 B GT the other day. Everything seems to work just
fine, however when I followed the instructions in the Bentley manual for
checking the valve timing I ran into a problem. The books says to set the #1
intake valve clearance to 0.055 and then check that the valve just starts to
close at TDC. However on my engine the valve just starts to close, (rocker
touches the valve stem), way (about 20 deg) past TDC. I took the timing
cover off and made sure the dots on the cam and crank wheels were aligned,
but the valve timing still seems to be off. Does anyone have any ideas about
what is going on? The engine seems to run quite well as it is.

Cheers,
Simon
