I drove down Skyline Drive and the BRP just a couple years ago. What a
trip! Started in Front Royal, VA and got off the BRP south of Raliegh NC
(Headed for Charlotte). Camped the whole way (well all but one night)
Great scenery, biggest problem was the RV's. Although on the day we went
from Monticello to Raliegh, it was veddy over/undercast. I wrote up a
couple of reports for the MG list shortly after returning. You can find
them in the archive with the subject "Midget on BRP" (or something like
that).
