Subject: radiator overflow

Hi all learned ones,

Looking for insight!

Symptoms: overflow from radiator overflow tube. The temp indicator on the
dash is
reaching its high temp much faster than norm (but not greater than
N. In
fact, in
my 2+ years of ownership, it has never exceeded N).
Occurance: last 3 times on the road, the last after a ride on flat terrain
of less than 5 miles.

The fan is running normally.
My limited knowledge and guesswork: perhaps the thermostat is not opening.

But as I said...limited.

What else might I look for in symptoms and what other possible dysfunction
could be
signalled by this non-invited behavior?
