In order for International MOs to be cashed "easily" in another country,
the US PO must have an agreement with that country to cash each others MOs.
I understand there is no such agreement between the US and the OZ PO (and
now it looks like NZ too). In Oz, banks will accept postal MOs, but treat
them like checks, and usually charge a large fee to process them. And as
far as sending checks, it's not as simple as it would appear, since the
nether parts of the world are not on the US banking industry's automated
clearing system.
