Took the kids to the toy store yesterday so that could squander their
allowance. There in the die cast car section was a big selection of the new
Johnny Lightning British Invasion Series. This matchbox sized car series
includes a 1963 MGB Roadster, 1961 MGA Twin Cam roadster (didn't think they
made it in '61, but...), 1959 MGA, as well as a Bugeye Sprite, E-type
roadster, TR #A and Sunbeam Alpine. It was $3.99 for the individually
packaged car, or $9.99 for the limited edition pack, which includes two
casts, one natural and one in a "shiny"metallic finish.
On the back of the box is a notice to all British Car owners. They are
asking anybody that owns one of the six models in the BODY STYLE Indicated
(e.g., only 62 - 69 MGB's; '58 - '60 MGA 1500 or 1500 Twin Cam; '58 - '61
TR3A; '58-'61 AH Sprite; '61-'64 E-Type; '59-'64 Alpine) to send in as many
photos as they can, and they may feature the car in an upcoming Photo Card
