"I can't see their faces, but I know that each driver in each 2002 Mini
Cooper has to be smiling as much as I am. This is fun, as close to a
street-legal go-cart as you will find. The Mini is back in America, returned
from a 35-year hiatus and as boxy and funky and fun as it ever was. Except
that this time, it has been reengineered by BMW, which means a classic has
gotten faster, tighter, and cleaner. "
"The Mini Cooper base price is $16,850. The Mini S has a base price of
$19,850.

Ah, yes, that's the 6-speed Mini coming with a 1.6-liter, supercharged,
intercooled engine that cranks out 163 horsepower. BMW maintains the chip is
hidden so the car can't be tweaked. Yeah, right!
Mini hopes to sell 20,000 of its cars in the United States this year. They
will be sold at 70 BMW dealers who have agreed to build separate Mini
facilities.
The guess here is they'll all be sold even before they are built.
This will be the cult car of the year, and I have joined a cult. "
