Battery Size

An odd thing happen to me yesterday...I went to put my new plastic boot n
for the battery compartment and low and behold the battery is to big for the
boot. it says in the instruction that the boot will not fit. I have a 76 mg.
Any idea what size battery goes in it. I swear I bought the right one a year
back but does size really matter in this case:) Thanks
