When I first got my TD in 1967 it did that also. The problem was me. I wasn't used to the light and quick steering when compared to the non assisted steering of my 1960 Rambler! I just had to learn to let it wander some and not try to correct everything. I still do, even though I now drive a modern car with power steering.
