Thanks to the numerous suggestions to look at the starter relay, I
remembered something about an ignition relay in the glovebox. The maybe
not-so-D PO had a new Lucas ignition relay with the note marked on it
"Ignition Relay - always carry a spare". Of course, that doesn't absolve
him from hooking the radio to the horn, but that aside...

So I disconnected the battery, replaced the ignition relay, reconnected the
battery and...

nothing. Not even the clock has power.

On the basis that it's unlikely (though admittedly possible) that the spare
is a dead relay too, I have the following questions:

1) Is there a separate starter solenoid relay? I'm assuming ignition relay
= starter solenoid relay, and it's just mixed terminology, but in case
there are two separate ones, then I'm fooling with the wrong one. If there
are two, where's the starter solenoid relay located?

2) If there is just the one relay, and I still have no power, which would
be the most likely wire to be the culprit for a problem?

3) Can a failure of the ignition relay cause the whole car to have no power
(even the clock)?

Thanks
